Start date: 2020 Credentials: RVT
Alison graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Seneca College in June 2020 and joined the AHOC team shortly after. She was born and raised in Regina, SK and moved to Toronto to study animal physiology at the University of Toronto. After several years of working in various vet clinics as an assistant, she fell in love with the RVT profession. She was amazed at the variety of roles they held within veterinary medicine - from nurse, phlebotomist, anesthetist, laboratory technician, X-ray technician, and so much more.
So after graduating from the University of Toronto, she decided to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Her favourite part of being an RVT includes preventive care/client education, Fear-Free vet visits, radiography and advancing hands-on skills such as venipuncture and IV catheter placements.
Outside of work, you can find her hanging out with her two cats, Sesame and Nori, practicing yoga & meditation, shooting film photography, reading, and traveling to new countries/trying new cuisines with her partner!
